There's Still Time to Play

There is still time to play with our current challenge. Please click here to see the design team samples.

This challenge ends on Friday, July 1st at midnight (PST).
We would also like to bid a fond farewell to June's Guest Designer, Cindy Beach.  She has blessed us all with her beautiful work this month.  However, you can still visit Cindy and see her work at her blog, "Stamps, Paper and Ink".

And we would also like to extend a Paper Players welcome to our July Guest Designer, Tui Nathan!  Here is what Tui has to say:

"Hi, my name is Tui Nathan and I hail from the Gold Coast, Australia. I started into this wonderful world of papercrafting in 2008, just dabbling here and there, and I say "dabbling" because for the life of me I just couldn't get anything to match - I had no idea how colour tonings could range soo vastly from inks to papers to ribbons to embellishments, you name it, and oh .... the number of unfinished (or more appropriately unstarted ...) projects! That was until I was introduced to Stampin Up in 2009 ... and well, the rest is history! I love to take part in challenges and am constantly inspired by all the talented artists that I come across. And so, for the month of July, I am honoured to able to share with you some of my creations as the Paper Players Guest Designer, which will hopefully inspire you to join in and create along with us."

Make sure to welcome Tui as she begins with her first challenge this Sunday!

Clean and Simple Sketch Challenge #52 Winners

It's Saturday and time to reveal the winners of Jaydee's Clean and Simple Sketch Challenge #52. Your projects were fabulous, making the job of selecting the Cuts Above and the Headliner a difficult one for the Design Team members. We would like to thank everyone who participated. Let's take a look at this week's winners!

Our Cut Above winners:

Sandra's Choice: Maria
I love this card that Maria created. I love how Maria layered and rock and rolled her beautiful butterfly. The colour combination is eye catching and the touch of lace and bling finish it all perfectly. Congratulations, Maria, on being a Cut Above this week!

Anne Marie's Choice: Bonnie Klass
I really enjoyed seeing the evolution of Bonnie's card design on her blog post. I just love how she masked off the area for her beautifuly stamped, main image on this one layer-wonder. The colors just pop off the clean background. Simple seam binding and that tiny butterfly were the perfect finishing touches, too. Congratulations, Bonnie on being my choice for a Cut Above this week.

Lauri's Choice: Nancy
Nancy's card immediately caught my eye with its gorgeous color combination! The gray and yellow is gorgeous, and the image is so pretty! I love everything about this card! Congratulations Nancy for being my choice for Cut Above this week!

Guest Designer Cindy's Choice: Jen
I Create.
When I see a clean and simple card with lots of elegant white space, balanced images that pack a punch, and just the perfect details to keep my interest, it's always a winner in my book! Jen, congratulations for being my pick for A Cut Above this week! I love the impact of Jen's hand drawn frame and the gorgeous colors she chose for this beauty.

LeAnne's Choice - Terry
Goin' Over the Edge

First, I LOVE the color combo that Terry chose for her card! Embossing only a portion of the card, plus nestling the sentiment up into the main image are ingenious touches, but both so simple! Of course, I love the vintage image, and she has pushed me over the edge in wanting this stamp set! Congrats on being my Cut Above, Terry!

Nance's choice: Julie
Oh my gosh, "embossing to the max"--maximum elegance, that is--describes Julie's gorgeous card! This is a lovely example of how detailed clean-and-simple can be. The embossed navy background is a stunning canvas for the beautiful embossed tangerine flowers. And I love how her shadow stamping pulls the navy background color into the main panel. Absolutely stunning...congratulations Julie, you're my Cut Above!!

Ann's Choice: Archana
With it's beautifully coordinated handmade flowers, Archana's card immediately caught my eye! Although it is clean and simple, this card still illustrates fabulous details...including the twine bow and rhinestone brads for the flower centers. And what a striking color combination, too! Congratulations, Archana, for being my choice for A Cut Above this week!

Lesley's Choice: Sue
Little Bits of Randomness
This week we had so many fabulous entries, it is always so challenging to narrow it down to one card! I kept coming back to Sue's sweet creation. The wee flowers and the polka-dotted designer paper made me smile. I also loved how she highlighted that perfect sentiment with two brads. This card makes me smile, I know the person receiving it would smile too. Congratulations Sue on being a Cut Above this week!

And now on to our HEADLINER
Jaydee's Choice: Carrie

Carrie's card really highlights the fact that clean and simple can also be beautifully detailed! The summery colors were a perfect combination with the brightness of the pussycat. The fabulous scalloped grass, the wonderful puffy white clouds and the unexpected pop of Rich Razzleberry in the 3D butterfly. The sun the in the corner with a little cloud running past it... I loved it all. The final touch of perfection.... the little flower with just a little bling. Congratulations, Carrie - your fabulous scene is our HEADLINER this week.

Tomorrow we have another wonderful sketch challenge from the very talented Lesley. We hope you will join us for our Paper Players Challenge #53.

Challenge #51 Winners

It's Saturday and time to reveal the winners of Ann's Color Challenge #51. Your projects were fabulous, making the job of selecting the Cuts Above and the Headliner a difficult one for the Design Team members. We would like to thank everyone who participated. Let's take a look at this week's winners!

Our Cut Above winners:

Anne Marie's Choice: Lisa F.

I selected Lisa's gorgeous card because of all of the awesome detailing she added. I love how she bundled the orchid stamped images together, the soft shading, the layered ribbon and the perfectly cut butterfly. Those pearl accents were just the icing on the cake. Just gorgeous, in every way and the colors are showcased beautifully together. Congratulations Lisa, on being A Cut Above this week!

Lesley's Choice: Madeline

I chose Madeline's card because I loved the clean crisp white background. I also thought her flower was adorable in 3D with the little yellow flowers punched out too. The ribbon is a sweet accent in the middle of the card and I just thought the layout was truly unique. A very special birthday card indeed! Congratulations Madeline.

Guest Designer Cindy's Choice: Heidi

Heidi's beautiful card caught my eye and her use of the colors is totally delightful! I love her crisp style, fabulous layout, and bold design. Her card is perfectly balanced and I love the bit of bling too! Congratulations, Heidi, you're a Cut Above!

LeAnne's Choice: Rach
I just squealed with delight when I saw this adorable CAS card from Rach using the brand-new Pennant Parade set from SU! Adding those little pompoms was a stroke of creative genius that turned a cute card into a super-duper extra-special card! Congrats, Rach, on being my Cut Above!

Nance's choice: Rita

Like LeAnne with Rach's card, I squealed with delight when I saw Rita's pinwheels! I had just looked up a tutorial on how to make these and then I saw Rita's card on The Paper Players! Pinwheels abound! This color combination is perfect for the happy, sunny, bright pinwheel landscape Rita has created. The rolling Wild Wasabi hills, the polka dot embossed background and the banner tag are all fabulous touches that make Rita my choice for Cut Above! Congratulations Rita!

Jaydee's Choice:

I loved this scrapbook page that Clare created. Not only is the focal point just absolutely adorable :-), but the way Clare used the Presto Patterns paper to incorporate the color challenge this week was masterful. The sponging, the way she highlighted the flowers and simply stamped JOY on the side of the photograph - I loved it all. I found myself looking at the page several times and loving it more each time. Clare, congratulations on being my CUT ABOVE this week.

Lauri's Choice: Carol
Love how Carol use the flowers and ribbon to accept this week's colors! Paired with the DSP, we have a cute and bright card! Congratulations for being a Cut Above this week, Carol!

And now for this week's Headliner:
Ann's Choice: Rosemary

Clean, simple and oh, so classy! Rosemary's card is a perfect example of using white space. I love the stamped frame and the positioning of the sentiment. Of course, the simple design is perfect for showcasing the trio of detailed doily stamps. "Congrats", Rosemary, on being this week's Headliner!

Congratulations to all of our winners! And thank you to all who made Challenge #51 a success! Please join us tomorrow for Challenge #52. Jaydee has something special planned for you!
