Paper Players Challenge # 31 Winners

Thank you to everyone who played along with our Sketch Challenge this week. There were so many fabulous cards, and so much variety and creativity! You continue to amaze us every week. Plus we would like to welcome those who were new to our challenge. We hope you will join us again! Before we get to our Headliner, let's check out the Design Team's choices for A Cut Above:

It was a really hard decision for me this week. There were so many amazing and creative cards. I kept going through all the thumbnails thinking I had made up my mind. Something about Lilith's card just kept calling me back again and again. I love all the background detail. The creative elements used for the circular details from the sketch. The lace, the color scheme, the distressing. As the sentiment said - "you make me laugh" and this card certainly did. All round, fabulous. Congrats Lilith.

Nance's choice: Julie B

Anyone who knows me knows I love birds--I think I have every bird stamp SU makes! So, right away I was drawn to the lovely bird Julie used. But what drew me in is all her little details--the birdcage background, the pearls, the crochet trim, the layering, the distressing and I love the sentiment stamped on it's side! She flipped the sketch and the sentiment and I flipped for this card! Congratulations Julie!

LeAnne's choice - Linda Callahan

This card caught my eye immediately with its deep rich colors, strikingly-colored image and the lace trim. I also like the different shape of the sentiment tab--a fun little surprise on an elegant card. It's just lovely all around! Congrats, Linda!

Julie's Choice- Carrie Gaskin

I love the colors, texture, ribbon and those little purses on Carrie's card! And to find out that she used the new cupcake punch to create them- what a great idea! The black and pink color combination has always been one of my favorites- it is so striking! Congratulations Carrie!

Lesley's Choice-Miriam

I chose Miriam's card because of the beautiful butterflies and the colours. She used the sketch so well I thought, with the hand cut butterfly and the layering. I loved the Designer Paper and the embossed panel. Such a pretty card, it caught my eye right away! Congratulations Miriam.

And now to our Headliner!

Ann's Choice - Krystal

Krystal's card is all about the details! From the adorable owl to the textured heart, what we have is a feast for the eyes! I love how she layered the pink taffeta ribbon over the wide striped grosgrain. Of course, the brads are the perfect touch! A wonderful take on the sketch! Congratulations, Krystal, on being our Headliner this week!

Congratulations to all of our Winners this week! Please grab your winner's badge for your blog from the left sidebar.

Tomorrow we are all excited to share our first BLOG HOP with you! There will be some prizes and lots of fun, so please be sure to visit us on Sunday!

Challenge #30--Winners!

Hi all! Thank you to everyone who played along with our Colour Challenge this week. So many lovely cards--you continue to amaze us every week and we loved seeing some new Players this week! Before we get to our headliner, let's check out the Design Team's choices for A Cut Above:

Ann's Choice - Pam Guidici

Masculine cards are always difficult to design, but Pam succeeded in creating a fabulous birthday card. Colored to perfection, the hexagonal image is further accented by two eyelets! Texture to die for, and an adorable puppy, made Pam's card a winner! Congratulations!

LeAnne's Choice - Sandra Farrell

I love Sandra's layout, the papers and images she's used, and the vintage feel of her card--- shabby makes me happy! That little ruffly ribbon is just the icing on the cake! Congrats to you, Sandra!

The clean and simple layout of Rach's card really appealed to me. I love the fact that she captured so much texture with the embossing folder. The perfectly placed small butterfly in the same color as the thank you, immediately draws your eye to the sentiment. Which, is what this card is all about. Perfectly clean and simple. Congratulations, Rach!

Julie's Choice- Stephanie Uzee

I love Stephanie's card with the beautiful spring feeling and the gorgeous coloring of the blossoms. The white embossed area along with the white scrunched ribbon and button just finish the card off perfectly!
Congratulations, Stephanie!

Lesley's Choice- Kathy Tanner

I chose Kathy's pretty card because of the cool grid background she created! I love the way she used the colours all together and cut out the roses to accent the sentiment. So pretty and original.  Congratulations Kathy!!

And now...for our Headliner...

Carrie Gaskin - Artistic Avenger

Oh my gosh, Carrie's card just makes you smile doesn't it? I love how she tied the challenge colors together in the sentiment and distressed all the edges but the crowning touch is her "fancy" owl! The eyelashes, the ruffled dress and the pearl necklace send this one straight across the Headlines! Congratulations, Carrie!

We hope to see you back here tomorrow for a fabulous sketch challenge from our very own, uber-talented Ann Schach!

PP29 - Valentine Theme Challenge Winners

Hi Paper Players, Jaydee here.

It was my pleasure to host the THEME CHALLENGE this past week. You guys are making it harder and harder to chose winners every single week. It was so exciting to see such a wonderful array of projects and we loved visiting each and everyone of them. The quality of submissions is amazingly high. You are a very talented group of paper crafters!

We really appreciate you playing along with us every week. Before we get to the headliner this week, let's see which projects our design team members chose as their CUT ABOVES choices:

Ann' Choice: Anne Marie

With its pearls and lovely bow, Anne Marie's beautiful card was my choice for A Cut Above. I loved the color combination, multiple matting and the attention to details. The three glitter hearts, as well as the embossed heart on the sentiment, were the perfect finishing touches. Congratulations, Anne Marie!

Lesley's Choice: Rachel of Seize the Stamp

I chose Rachel's card because of the clean lines and the use of the colour Gray on her Valentine Card. She heat embossed the birds in the birdcage and the Mr. and Mrs., I think this card is lovely and simple, in all the right ways. Congratulations Rachel!

Julie's Choice- Sylvia of Miss Lil Stamper's Blog

I chose Sylvia's card as a "Cut Above" because it is so unique and the sentiment says it all! I love the choice of colors, the buttons and the "recipe". Congratulations, Sylvia!

Nance's choice - Patti of What are you Inking?

Isn't Patti's card the cutest?! I love all the texture, the itty bitty envelope and all those hearts are so full of movement and fun! Just the perfect mood for a happy Valentine's Day card. Congratulations Patti!

LeAnne's Choice - Marisa's #3

I just loved the choice of colors, the layout, and the designer paper Marisa used---sweet as candy! Congratulations, Marisa!

And here is our HEADLINER this week. I loved Eva's fabulous card. The colors, the key and lock, the flower, the heart - they all worked together so beautifully. There was a vintage feel, but with clean and elegant lines. I found myself looking at it again and again. Eva, congratulations on being our HEADLINER this week!

Jaydee's choice: Eva's Valentine

Don't forget to grab your winner badge for your blog from the left sidebar. Stop by on Sunday to check out our new challenge for this week. The very talented Nance has cooked up a wonderful colour challenge for us.

Welcome to Julie Gearinger-January Guest Paper Player

I would like to introduce our Guest Designer for January.  Julie is a long time stamper and plays with us here at the Paper Players all the time!  Her work is unique and beautiful, showing a special knack for using extras like ribbon and embossing.  Please join us in welcoming Julie to the Paper Player team for the month of January!  I have asked Julie to share a bit about herself, this is what she sent.

Julie Gearinger
Ever since I was a young girl, I have loved drawing, painting, sewing, quilting and all kinds of crafts.  I wanted to find an outlet to share my crafts with others and in 1999 I was introduced to Stampin’ Up!  Immediately I signed up as a demonstrator and have been mainly a hobby demo ever since.  I love creating cards and sharing what I love with others.  My favorite techniques are heat embossing and dry embossing (in fact, I can not seem to create a card without my Big Shot anymore:-).  Thankfully, my husband (and best friend) is very supportive of my stamping and I have two beautiful kitties as constant stamping companions!  What more could a girl ask for?

To visit Julie's blog please click HERE.

Thank you for stopping by!  We are looking forward to sharing our first challenge for the month on January 9th!!!  Are you ready to play!

Smiles,
Lesley
